Trish Horrocks completed her BMus at the University of Western Ontario. She studied with Gwen Thompson, Robert Skelton, Paul Kling, Yaroslav Karlovsky (viola), and Pablo Deimecke, and has completed Suzuki teacher training with Elayne Ras, Carol Smith and Ann Montzka-Smelser. Trish currently teaches Suzuki violin to students as young as three at her downtown Nanaimo studio, and also prepares dozens of students each year for RCM violin, viola and theory examinations. She is a Certified Specialist Teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music for Elementary and Intermediate violin and theory. Trish is an active ensemble director for both chamber ensembles and folk fiddle groups. Under her direction, local student ensembles have won top prizes in the CBC Music Class Challenge for several years in a row. In addition to teaching, Trish is busy as a composer, arranger, and studio musician.
